Beautiful and understated Brocade Fabric antique purse from the 1920s. Note the quadruple hinges, allowing the purse to 'fold' open as shown in pictures, Frame is made of a silvertone metal, and the handle is also metal small linked chain.
The weave on the brocade is of a deep woods or forest, trees, bushes, abstract, yet I can definitely see an outdoors, and subdued design of a forest, Is deep bronze, gold, ecru and brown in tones. Some very muted greens or foliage. The interior has a small mirror and a 'calling card' with the former owner's name. Those will be included.
Condition is good, the hinged frame and the clasp on top function perfectly. The brocade is strong, no tears. The interior, which I believe is Silk, has seen better days, some repairs or replacement, will leave that decision to the new owner. This purse would be fabulous for any occasion, very sophisticated and unique.
