Gorgeous set of 4 Coalport Dinner Plates created for Marshall Fields Department Store of Chicago. Laureled gold gilt design surrounds each plate with a large gold medallion in the center, highly reflective and very elegant. Difficult to find, I am unsure of the age or pattern name. No chips, no cracks, no crazing, with a small area along the rim of worn gold, easily remedied, but will leave that decision to the new owner of this set.
Each plate measures 10 1/4 inches in diameter.
Coalport China originally began manufacturing beautiful bone china products from its Coalport location in Shropshire in 1889. In 1967 Coalport was acquired by the Wedgwood group.
