Unique and beautiful hand painted Madonna as Art for your wall, signed by artist and marked Italy. The paints used appear to be watercolors on a bisque pottery base. The piece is rimmed in gold gilt, with the design being etched into the pottery. Look closely at the pictures, you can see the brush stroked.
Also I found this interesting- look at the proportion or scale of the arms and hands. There is a wire hanger attached on the back, ready for hanging. The piece is designed similar to a wave, as there are gentle curves in the pottery, giving this piece depth and dimension.
This artwork or plaque is very curious and interesting, has been very well taken care of, absolutely no chips or cracks. Measures 11 inches by 6 3/4 inches and the 'waves' on the corners project as much as 2 inches outward from the wall.
